What this site is
sunrise-sunset.co is a free reference for the times of sunrise, sunset, solar noon, twilight and golden hour anywhere on Earth, for any date between 2000 and 2099. It has a daily calculator, a monthly table, a year view and 27 city pages. Everything is calculated in your browser from an open-source astronomy library; no account, cookie, tracking script or location prompt is involved.
Where the numbers come from
Times are produced by SunCalc 2.0.2, an open-source library published under the BSD-2-Clause licence, using a level sea-level horizon, standard atmospheric refraction and the IANA time-zone rules built into your browser. The methodology page explains the formula and its limits, with links to the U.S. Naval Observatory and NOAA reference pages we checked the conventions against. The place search uses a list of 5,000 cities and towns with coordinates and time zones derived from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0); moon times and phases come from the same SunCalc library.
Editorial responsibility
The copy on this site was written for it and is reviewed against the sources named on each page. Every page shows its publication and last-updated dates. If a time or a statement looks wrong, use the contact form with the subject “A time looks wrong” and include the place, date and the value you expected; confirmed errors are corrected and the page date is updated. We do not publish reviews, ratings, testimonials or claims of official accuracy.

What the site does not do
It does not model terrain, buildings, weather or your altitude, so what you see on the ground can differ by minutes from the flat-horizon times shown. It is not a substitute for official almanac tables where a legal or safety definition of daylight applies, and it offers no navigation, religious or aviation timings.
